It's that time of year again. Mock drafts are being posted left and right. "Sleepers" are being uncovered. I'm here to give general drafting advice as you prepare for your real draft.
*Choose the safe option in the first 2 rounds*
I get it. It's really fun to choose high potential players and dream of them carrying you to your coveted championship. You can't win your league with a stellar first pick, but you can certainly lose quickly. Don't risk it all by drafting 2 high risk high reward RBs right away.
*The boring name is usually the best value*
If you're like me and have been playing for 10+ years, you get tired of the same names... They're boring! Maybe you drafted that player 5 years ago, why draft him again? Your opponents most likely feel the same way. And that's where you get great value. Nobody enters the draft WANTING to draft Larry Fitzgerald. They'd rather have the hot new name! But while they draft the hot new name, you'll casually draft Larry Fitzgerald 1-2 rounds later and get a better bang for your buck.
*Know your opposition*
This is something that has to be learned... Does one person in your league love rookies and feel compelled to reach for them? Does another person in your league need to have a top QB? Great! Let them do that, while you reap the rewards.
